Division Descriptions: Cancer Center Clinics           

Minimum Requirements: Recent paid RN experience in an oncology setting. ACLS preferred. External candidate: BSN required. Per Diem to Career: BSN required or in progress.           

Responsibilities: Provides direct patient care to a diversified patient population, across continuum of care.  Applies experience and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations.  Participates in patient and staff education.  Demonstrates leadership skills.  Demonstrates accountability for own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.           

Requirements: Possession of valid California RN license.  Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.  Passing of UCDMC Performance Demonstration, Policy Review and Medication Exam.  CPR Certification.           

Special Requirements: Skills, knowledge, and ability to perform functions of Clinical Nurse I/II job description at a proficient level.  Ability to set priorities and work independently.  Judgment skills to make independent clinical decisions.  Skills to perform CPR.  Skill to work accurately and quickly under pressure.  Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicity. Ability to safely lift 25 lbs. and assist in moving patients, and stand on feet over extended periods.  Knowledge of legal implications for clinical practice.  Knowledge of, and ability to utilize principles of adult learning.  Knowledge of performance improvement and research process. This position is subject to a criminal background investigation.
