RN PRN 36
Shift and/or Schedule
Employee commits to working a minimum of 36 hours per week to include at least one weekend per pay period when the Hospital has the need. Employee is required to work one (1) major and two (2) minor holidays per calendar year.
Major Holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Minor Holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July
Weekends are defined as 3:00PM Friday to 7:00AM Monday
Position responsible for collaborating with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process to facilitate the delivery of patient care. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge to the principals of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Must demonstrate commitment to the Customer Service process and VBMC Behavioral Expectations in all interactions and in performing all job duties. Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction, while promoting safety, cost efficiency and a commitment to the Six Sigma process.
Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or Compact State. Must be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified at completion of nursing orientation. ACLS, PALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC and PHLS certifications required in designated departments. Must have one year of prior work experience in their specialty area to be eligible to participate in the RN PRN program.
