POSITION SUMMARY: The nursing supervisor facilitates operational process supporting patient care in a 12 hour shift. Coordinates the interdepartmental activities of hospital departments through the interpretation of hospital policies and procedures. Functions as the extension of an on-site representative for Administration and Department Directors. Acts as liaison between Departments, Hospital Administration medical and hospital staff. Utilizing internal resources, is aware of the 12 hour shift staffing plan on each department to include ancillary and nursing. Deploys appropriate resources based on unit acuity and/or staffing needs. Provides customer relations and service recovery for patients, families, physicians and staff through conflict resolution. Oversees and coordinates all intra-facility transfers assuring compliance with EMTALA rules. Keeps Administration and Administrator on Call aware of any major issues.
Licensure/certification/registration: State of Texas RN license, ACLS within 90 days of date of hire, CPR certification.
Experience Required: 2 years clinical experience, 1 year management experience preferred
