Performs audits of itemized charges by comparing the patient’s bill against the medical record, ancillary records and hospital protocols to determine the accuracy of charges. Perform audits of ancillary department charges to determine accuracy and compliance with VBHS policy and federal regulations. Perform audits of individual accounts upon patient request to answer questions, clarify charges and determine accuracy of charges. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
Current RN license to practice in Texas. Managerial and advanced computer skills required. 3 or more years clinical nursing experience in a hospital environment required. Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to work independently. Must also have the ability to work collaboratively with various administrative and clinical areas within the hospital. Must have excellent verbal and communication skills. Must be able to work well under pressure with frequent interruptions.
