Reporting to the Senior Director of Critical Care, The Director of Professional Development will sustain and enhance the nursing professional practice environment at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children through a strong vision and a well-articulated philosophy that promotes excellence in nursing. The Director of Professional Development, using evidence-based models and tools, will collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Directors to translate the values and ideals of the nursing profession into practice. They will implement and direct nursing research. They will promote strong nursing environments that sustain the Magnet culture, which exemplifies excellence in nursing and leadership. They will promote and encourage outcomes and accountability centered on the nursing division and patient and family centered care. The Director of Professional Development is responsible for all continuing education activities according to the standards of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association.
MSN required. Doctoral level preparation preferred.
PA RN Licensure
Demonstrated experience suitable for the position is preferred.
Ability to manage Staff Development Instructor and Mentor Coordinator. Matrix management of unit based educators with their clinical manager.
