We are currently recruiting a full-time Pre Surgical Screening Nurse.The Pre Surgical Screening Nurse is responsible for preoperative review of patient charts. The individual in this role insures all necessary preoperative testing and diagnostic studies are ordered and completed in a timely fashion. Collaborating with extra departmental services, they insure that all necessary ancillary studies such as ultrasound and sentinel node injections have been placed on the patient schedule. The Screening Nurse will review the patient chart for any deficits that may prevent the patient from having surgery and work with necessary personnel to resolve the issue. The Screening Nurse provides the patient with preoperative instructions 24 hours in advance of surgery. The individual in this role will collect and maintain data regarding case cancellations and acts as a backup for the Surgical Scheduler as needed. The position is full-time working typically Monday through Friday 8-hour day shifts.
