CLINICAL REGISTERED NURSE COWLITZ INDIAN TRIBE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES JOB ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Clinical Registered Nurse Schedule: Monday through Friday Location: Longview, WA Opening Date: February 12, 2014 Classification: Full Time Hours: 8 am to 5 pm Salary Range: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour DOE Closing Date: Open until filled Position Summary: The Clinical Registered Nurse provides quality nursing care and clinical management support with supervision from the Clinic Manager. Essential Functions: • Responsible for clinical supervision of nursing activities under the direction of the Clinic Manager and management of complicated cases. • May plan and implement performance improvement and accreditation activities in the Tribal Clinic. • Provides direct nursing in an ambulatory primary care and behavioral health setting. • Provides nursing assessments and case management activities. • Provide training to MA’s. • Follow up with complicated referrals and patients. This is similar to acting as a patient navigator. • May direct quality and performance improvement activities in the clinic. • Monitors clinical activities and suggests systems improvements. • Is designated infection control officer. • Responsible for implementation of accreditation related activities. • Maintains patient confidentiality and addresses potential privacy concerns. • Develop cooperative relationships within the department and community. • Utilizes and suggests improvements to electronic health record systems. • Improves quality of care by optimizing use of all pertinent features in the Electronic Health Record system. • Other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager. Job Qualifications • Registered Nurse required with 10 years experience, at least 5 years in primary care setting or • BSN or MSN with at least 5 years of primary care experience, and • Minimum 3 years experience with significant role in accreditation activities. • Prior experience as a Nurse Manager required, preferably in a family practice setting. • Must submit to and pass a criminal background check and drug test Desirable Experience (required for high end of pay scale) • The top candidates for this position will demonstrate a high level of experience with the Indian Service Electronic Health Record (EHR) and RPMS applications.
