The Clinical Nurse Research Coordinators supports the professional role of the RN in the research setting by coordinating and administering cardiovascular protocols in cooperation with the principal investigator. He/she performs those patient care functions required by the research protocols within a nursing framework. The Nursing Research Coordinator serves as a patient advocate to ensure that all requirements of the research protocol are met. He/she ensures compliance with regulatory standards for each protocol. The Clinical Nurse Research Coordinator works collaboratively with investigators in Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute as well as associated areas such as the emergency departments and Surgical Services. Must be able to complete detailed paperwork in strict accordance with regulatory requirements and deal with physicians, patients, sponsors and other departments in a service excellence manner. Will be required to provide inservices to other departments. Becomes certified in Clinical Research.
Current FL RN licensure; BSN preferred. Strong clinical background with critical care/cardiac/cath lab experience. Background in quality monitoring, and/or research methodology very helpful. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office. Ability to manage multiple projects/protocols systematically. Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and team-building skills are required. Must be able to work in high-stress, high volume area and multi-task to ensure enrollment of patients in research protocols according to regulatory requirements.
