POSITION TITLE: L.V.N.
REPORTS TO: Clinical Director/Preop-PACU Team Lead
POSITION PURPOSE: To assist in daily clinical care of patients in preop and PACU when needed, in accordance with federal, state, and AAAHC regulations and Center policies and procedures. Primary responsibilities are preoperative phone calls to all patients on a daily basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities are to call all patients at least the day before surgery to obtain needed medical information. The Preop LVN will take a brief history & physical over the phone. She/he will also give preoperative instructions in order to better prepare the patient for their procedure. Also when needed will provide patient care activities including direct patient care and maintaining a clean, orderly, safe work environment.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory nursing care or critical care. Effective communication skills. Effective positive interpersonal and customer relations skills via telephone and face to face interaction. Displays positive attitude towards other employees.
Education/credentials as a LVN; an Associates degree or equivalent is required.
LVN license for the State ofTexas.
