The Certified Nurse Midwife provides prenatal care to patients, which includes physical assessment, patient education, nursing care and management of problems in accordance with approved nurse midwifery guidelines.
Demonstrates clinical expertise to function in an independent role. Excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills in order to collaborate with patients, families and staff. Ability to work with frequent stress resulting from an active caseload and busy clinical settings. Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate initiative in addressing responsibilities of position. Demonstrates teamwork with the nursing staff.
Current AHA BLS certification and NRP certification. Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with computers.
Must have successfully completed an approved school of Nursing and successfully passed the licensure exam. Current VI APRN Licensure required.
