Job Summary/Purpose:

The Magnet Program Director provides leadership and oversight to the planning, integration, implementation, and evaluation of Magnet program initiatives. The Magnet Program Director assumes primary responsibility for ensuring that the organization milieu reflects the internalization of the five components of Magnet. Ensures a well-planned program structure, which addresses Transformational Leadership, Structural Empowerment, Exemplary Professional Practice, New Knowledge Innovations, and Improvements and to promote excellence in patient care services as evidenced by Empirical Outcomes.                                                                                                                              

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Organizational Development
  • Management experience within a Magnet hospital setting
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Current Illinois Nursing Licensure
  • Previous experience as a Magnet leader, preferred
  • Board Certification in a nursing specialty, preferred.
