Participate in the duties and assist the Trauma Program Manager in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Trauma Program. In addition to administrative ability, qualified candidates must show evidence of educational preparation and experience in care of the injured patient. Work in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager, the Trauma Registrar and the trauma medical director, complimenting their efforts. Registered Nurse participating in day-to-day responsibility for process and performance improvement activities as they relate to nursing and ancillary personnel and assists the trauma medical director in carrying out the same functions for physicians and mid-levels. Participate in trauma resuscitation in leadership/support role to all staff.
BSN preferred. Applicant should have at least 3 years of practical experience and at least one year of trauma critical care or emergency nursing experience and have knowledge of the trauma system. Must be proficient in a variety of computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and be adaptable to new computer systems and injury registries. Applicant must be TNCC, CPR, ACLS, and PALS and/or ENPC certified, instructor status preferred. Applicant should be willing to travel to offsite meetings on occasion for State Committee on Trauma Meetings, Trauma Coordinator Meetings, Outreach events, and ongoing educational activities. Knowledge of the ACS Verification process and a solid understanding of performance improvement processes is preferred along with strong and effective communication skills. Applicant should also have an interest in research as it relates to care of the trauma patient. Organizational skills are a must.
