This position provides medical and psycho-social care and education for people who are HIV positive and/or have AIDS. This includes caring for people anywhere along the continuum, from new diagnosis to end-of-life. This also includes assessment and triage of clients in crisis due to chemical dependency and chronic psychiatric issues; developing and maintaining infection control practices; and assessing outcomes. This position also provides education and support to family, friends and partners of clients, as well as to staff.
- Washington State Department of Health Registered Nurse license
- CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work
- Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
This job also requires excellent assessment/triage knowledge and skills; excellent communication skills; a thorough working knowledge of clinical practices and procedures; an understanding of chemical dependency; excellent communication skills; an understanding of HIV/AIDS disease progression; strong organizational skills; and excellent counseling/psycho-social skills.
