Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing. Valid New York State License as a Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioner certification in Psychiatry. One year of full time working experience in Clinical Psychiatry to include prescribing.
Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience in a psychiatric outpatient practice. Addiction experience. Medical Institution experience.
Brief Description of Duties: The Nurse Practitioner will provide Nursing and Nurse Practitioner services to OMH licensed University Hospital outpatient clinic, including triage, individual and group treatment and interdisciplinary team collaboration. The selected candidate will be responsible for following:
- Clinical: seeing patients and conducting clinical activities including counseling, prescribing, suicide prevention, and crisis intervention.
- Committee participation: educational, research, clinical and quality improvement issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Special Notes: This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. *This position is located at Psychiatric Adult Outpatient Clinic, Stony Brook, NY. Night and weekend work is required. Travel between satellite locations will be required for this position.
