UMMC’s R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center is one of the most advanced trauma and critical care centers in the world. Our Critical Care Resuscitation Unit, in the new Critical Care Tower, will offer cutting edge critical care to all patients requiring intensive care admission. In this unit you will provide emergency critical care to patients of all specialties that are transferred into the UMMC. We are currently seeking Acute Care Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, experienced with multi system critical care to provide 24/7 care to this patient population. The successful candidate will have completed a Nurse Practitioner program at the Masters level, with Acute Care NP certification. Eligibility for Maryland licensure and prior NP experience in adult critical care setting is necessary. PA candidates should have completed an accredited program at the Masters level, and be eligible for Maryland licensure. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a critical care setting, cardiac surgery preferred. A Master of Science degree, with completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program. Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Nursing, and certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of specialization. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license is required. A minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
