The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) is responsible for coordinating and carrying out assigned
clinical research studies. This is accomplished through the development or updating of
protocols, procedures, and standards for a study in collaboration with the investigators. The
CRN teaches the research participant protocol specific information, reinforces compliance
to protocol procedures, collects research data as required, and provides direct nursing care
as needed. The CRN may coordinate and instruct other health team members.
