The College, founded in 1967, is an accredited, associate degree-granting institution of higher education serving Delaware and Chester counties. Under the general supervision of the Program Director the instructor provides didactic and clinical instruction based on an approved course syllabus for surgical technology students. Responsibilities include: lesson plan development; advice, tutor and evaluate students; participate in faculty meetings, continuing education seminars and in-service training sessions. Ideal candidates will participates in school activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings. Flexibility in scheduling is required to adapt to lecture and clinical schedule per semester.
Experience in educational theory and methodology (curricular design, development, implementation and evaluation) is preferred. Other requirements include testing methodology and item analysis experience. The ideal candidate will have effective networking and communication abilities to establish relationships within and outside of the College.
Graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Current Certification in the field of Surgical Technology (CST) through The National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting, (NBSTSA). Must have a minimum of three (3) years of operating room experience within the last five (5) years. Current CPR certification and a current valid Driver’s License. Experience with web based teaching methods preferred. Proficiency Microsoft Office computer software systems required. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Must have a minimum of one year of teaching experience in the areas.
