An experienced Registered Nurse with solid leadership skills is now being sought by a healthcare company in Westchester, New York. This is an excellent opportunity in which the qualified nursing professional will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the residential program department's nursing andmileustaff with regards to any and all medical procedures.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include but are not limited to:

  • Consults and follows order of all Medical Doctors, including Psychiatrists, on staff regarding patient care and orders
  • Recruits or assists in the recruitment and training of all nursing staff
  • Provides full program coverage in the absence of other nursing staff
  • Provides training to all Milieu,AMAPand Nursing staff regarding proper medical procedures and requirements to ensure client safety and regulatory compliance
  • Provides in-training sessions on First Aid, infection control, safety and universal precautions
  • Performs pharmacy reviews and responsible for Medication security procedures
  • Provides client advocacy for hospitalized clients
  • Coordinates with school nurses, nursing care and requirements for all residential clients who attend outside educational facilities
  • Coordinates, prepares and distributes all routine administrative medical reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual physical reviews as required by any licensing or regulatory bodies
  • Coordinates specialized (e.g. Physical and Occupational) Therapy for clients
  • Performs TB screening, including the administration ofMantouxtesting
  • May act as safety officers for Division, including all necessary OSHA reporting
  • Provides nutritional education as needed
  • Ensures that appropriate dietary needs and restrictions are met as needed for proper client care
  • Performs and oversees other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Minimum educational level of a BSN or RN
  • Familiar with standard reporting requirements as dictated by those bodies to whom the division is accountable
  • Solid leadership skills$
Desired Skills
  • Specialized experience in the area of mental health, developmental disorders, crisis intervention, AIDS or
    infectious disease or other areas as deemed appropriate for the program's needs.
