An experienced Registered Nurse is currently being sought after by a prestigious hospital in Connecticut for a Clinical Coordinator position. The qualified Clinical Coordinator will act as the assistant to the RN Manager and provide supervision and oversight of the direct care nursing staff.

Job Description

The RN Clinical Coordinator:

  • Provides clinical support and act as a resource to nursing staff in order to provide optimal patient care
  • Ensures continuity of appropriate patient care by planning staff assignments and providing direct patient care when necessary, in collaboration with Nurse Manager
  • Ensures unit staffing is met
  • Promotes positive public relations and acts as liaison with patients, physicians, family members, hospital personnel and visitors
  • Prepares and maintains department and staff readiness for regulatory visits
  • Participates in all forms of process improvements
  • Participates in the hiring, training, development and evaluation of nursing staff
  • Contributes to disciplinary action with nursing staff, in accordance with Human Resources Disciplinary Policy
  • Maintains department security and patient confidentiality
  • Complies with hospital attendance policy and department staffing policy
  • Adheres to hospital and department dress code policy
  • Completes required continuous training and education
  • Displays a positive attitude and works to achieve an environment of respect, accountability, teamwork, integrity and compassion. Does not support or take part in disruptive behavior
  • Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures and standards of care, which contribute to the achievement of the organization's strategic plan
Required Skills
  • 2+ years of acute nursing experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their family members, physicians and other health care workers
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly organized
