Schedule: PM/Nights, weekends as neededDescription: Reporting to the Director of Mental Health Network (MHN), performs mental health nursing assessments for Emergency Department and hospital patients upon request. Performs Emergency Department assessment and documentation of domestic violence cases as well as provides community referral for victim(s) of domestic violence, which includes: child abuse/neglect, elder abuse/neglect, battering, rape, and homelessness. Utilizes appropriate resources while maximizing funding available. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Revises plan of care as indicated. This job description was developed in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
1. A Registered Nurse with a current license in the state of Illinois.
2. Minimum of three years recent (within last five years) experience in the mental health field.
3. Completion of training and certification in CPI (Aggression Management), Critical Incident Stress Management (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc., Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell) and the introductory and advanced Mental Health Liaison Service training modules required within one year in position.
4. Current CPR certification.
