Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a per diem Staff Registered Nurse in our Day Surgery Unit at Swedish Ballard in Seattle, WA.
We are looking for an experienced RN in our Day Surgery Unit (focused on pre-post procedure care and endoscopic procedure care) who will uphold the Swedish standards in patient care.
In this position you will:
Assume leadership, responsibility and accountability for designated patients in the Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Units, as well as other locations in the perioperative continuum
Provide services for the patient undergoing surgical, nonsurgical, and diagnostic procedures
Interview patients before the day of admission, assessing and obtaining history, laboratory work, and diagnostic testing
Prepare patients physically and emotionally for their experience through interview, physical assessment and education
Provide services for patients in the post-operative phase, focusing on preparing patients to care for themselves
Assess and monitore patients, and provide assistance to the physician during endoscopic procedures
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing, or must attain a BSN within 5 years of hire
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Knowledgeable in performing assessments, planning patient care, providing direct care, and educate and orient families and staff.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Current experience as a Registered Nurse in a Day Surgery/ Endoscopy Center, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, or Emergency Department
