The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of patient care for an assigned group of patients, and for directing and coordinating all nursing care according to established standards of practice. Uses the nursing process to assess needs, plan care, implement the plan, and evaluate the patient¿s responses and progress towards goals. Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, members of the healthcare team, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery. Contributes to the overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Appropriately delegates nursing tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel. Demonstrates clinical leadership skills and professional accountability. Position may require working at either campus or alternate sites.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BS in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
Job Knowledge/Experience: Minimum of 2 years previous outpatient experience. Ability to practice according to this definition: The process of diagnosing human responses to actual or potential health problems, providing supportive and restorative care, health counseling and teaching, case finding and referral, collaborating in the implementation of the total health care regimen, and executing the medical regimen under the direction of a licensed physician, dentist or advanced practice registered nurse.
Licensure: Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Connecticut.
Certification: BLS certification required.
Skills: Excellent computer skills (E-MAR, clinical documentation) and the ability to multitask.
