The Performance Improvement Specialist supports the Community Hospital Division Quality Management Services Department and its customers through data extraction and display, process improvement, project facilitation, and education. Compiles, analyzes, evaluates, and develops reports to meet customer needs. Utilizes various tools to effectively display and communicate data to customers. Identifies process improvement opportunities and facilitates projects and work teams to meet desired goals. Develops education content as well as educates customers on quality and process improvement. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration or related field is required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing with Master's degree in Health Informatics is preferred.
Three years of relevant experience in Process Improvement required.
Training:Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills essential to be able to interact with physicians, management and staff members. Strong critical thinking, problem solving, process improvement, and team facilitation skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team context. Knowledge in working with various data systems/programs (SharePoint, Excel pivot tables, Microsoft Access, etc.) to efficiently extract, sort and display quality data derived from other clinical systems. Knowledge of medical terminology, body systems and basic disease processes. Knowledge of process improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, CAP, WorkOut or other similar PI methodologies. Knowledge of EPIC, Midas, McKessen, UHC is preferred.
