The ICU Clinical Nurse Specialist promotes excellence in clinical nursing practice through clinical expertise and a demonstrated ability to share expert clinical knowledge with others. In the educator role, utilizes adult learning theory and has experience in teaching ICU nurses. May participate in and be asked to lead research. Supports management through evaluation of nursing skills, establishes and evaluates competency and provides feedback on staff performance in the delivery of patient care to the Director. The ICU Clinical Nurse Specialist performs patient evaluations, counsels patients / families and collaborates with physicians and other members of the health
care team to coordinate patient care and to improve the clinical quality of care delivered.

Minimum - Two years recent experience in the Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist role preferred. Will consider new CNS program graduate with extensive ICU clinical experience. Five years recent critical care nursing experience
Minimum - Masters Degree in Nursing

NIHSS = National Institute of Health Stroke Scale within 30 days of hire.
