Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and as part of the HDR Team the employee is responsible for optimal care of all Brachytherapy Division patients and Radiation Oncology Clinic patients when assigned - within the scope of practice of a registered nurse. Will be supporting the anesthesia service to provide care to Brachytherapy patients before, during and after procedures. Will be compliant in current standards of nursing care and engage in activities and behaviors that characterized professionalism. Will gather and maintain patient records and reports, participate in patient and staff processes. Ensure that the supplies and equipment are maintained, meets the needs of the complete population served, and encourage and participate in departmental programs, including support to the residency program, in addition, supporting patient and family training and education related to department specialty. Additional projects related to medical center enterprise goals may be assigned. Assisting physicians with procedures, including conscious or general anesthesia; Providing pre, intra and post procedure patient care; Providing clinical (radiation therapy, brachytherapy) coverage at the Westwood clinic and Santa Monica clinics.
Current CA RN License and ACLS/BLS certification required. PALS preferred;
Two years of med/surg or 1 year recent ICU experience preferred;
Previous ICU, OR, or PACU experience and/or procedure related experience preferred;
Two years of radiation oncology nursing preferred;
Ability to read, write, and speak English using correct grammar and vocabulary;
Ability to utilize computer for communication, patient scheduling and documentation;
Ability to organize workload and set priorities;
Ability to flex work pace to meet department needs;
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with team members;
Support institutional and professional standards; Compliance to HR, Joint Commission, and DHS standard;
