The Bariatric Program Coordinator provides administrative oversight within the Bariatric Center in collaboration with the Physician Director for the Program. The Program Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the Center and the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). The Program Coordinator will assist with center development, maintaining relevant policies and procedures, patient education, outcomes data collection, quality improvement efforts, education of relevant staff, and ensure continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements. The Program Coordinator will develop and provide the education for patients, families, nursing and ancillary staff. Oversight of quality initiatives and ongoing accreditation readiness as well as facilitation and coordination of ongoing research projects will be completed in coordination with the Physician Director and Department of Surgery.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BS in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
Experience: Mental health or psych background preferred; Previous experience in a bariatric practice and/or program oversight preferred; Prior experience with quality registries a plus
Job Skills: Strong interpersonal skills; organizational and time management skills; excellent verbal and written communication ability. Critical thinking; professionalism; clinical skills and proficient medical knowledge. Able to use Microsoft Office applications; able to learn and use hospital based order entry and outpatient EMR platforms.
