Functions under general supervision of oncology dept manager, directing day-to-day operations of oncology infusion center. provide leadership and direction to nursing personnel for delivery of patient care, functioning as a resource person, working with others to achieve goals of oncology infusion center. monitor staff adeherance to patient care standards. collaborate with nurse educator to develop knowledge and skills of nursing personnel for delivery of patient care. collaborates with appropriate department staff regarding patients, staff and department issues. participates in department budgetary development and implementation. operates within budgeted parameters for staffing and supplies. completes staff schedule and payroll approval in compliance with policy and budget. facilitates and participates in interviewing and hiring nursing personnel. provides direct patient care. performs other duties as assigned by department manager. maintains appropriate licensure and certifications.

REQUIREMENTS: Current California RN license and BCLS certificate required. OCN or AOCN preferred. Knowledge of current Oncology concepts and practices. Skills in handling administration and disposal of conventional and investigational chemotherapeutic agents.Skills in use of venous access devices and infusion pumps. Ability to develop and implement plan of care including patient education, psychosocial needs, communication with members of the health care system. Ability to interpret lab data. Ability to collect and record patient data prior to, during and after the administration of chemotherapy.
BSN required or MSN preferred.
Greater than 2 years of Oncology Experience required
Supervisor or previous management experience required.
Clinic experience preferred
