Nurse Manager – Emergency Department

Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center (BCMMC) is currently seeking an Emergency Department Nurse Manager to be responsible for the day to day management of nursing staff assigned to the Emergency Department (ED). Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, ensures that appropriate admission, assessment, treatment and discharge of patients in conjunction with referral sources, community agencies, family and collateral contacts, etc. Manage key relationships internal and external to the organization, and shares responsibility for effective budgetary management of unit. Responsible for effective use of resources assigned to areas of responsibility.
- Required: Bachelor degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school. **Experience may not be substituted for a degree.** Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing.
- Required: Five years of previous nursing experience. Preferred: Management in perioperative services. Preferred: Minimum of three years of successful and progressive administrative leadership at the Nurse Manager level, preferable in emergency department.
- Required: Current licensing as a Registered Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas. Preferred: Certification in Emergency Nursing.
