Unit Manager- Operating Room/PACU at Lynchburg Gen. Hospital in Lynchburg, VA
Centra, a Magnet facility, is seeking a Unit Manager for the Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This nurse leader is expected to be a visionary and lead this unit into the future of healthcare.
The Unit Manager is responsible for the 24-hour management of both the LGH OR and PACU units. The Unit Manager plans, organizes, schedules, monitors, and leads the work of individuals and groups to attain desired results; selects and develops staff, and ensures staff productivity; facilitates Centra’s strategic plan; maintains quality patient care; and functions within budgetary guidelines. The Unit Manager integrates all the tenets of the Professional Practice Model into the operations of the unit. The Unit Manager’s practice reflects the American Nurses Association’s Code of Ethics for Nurses and the Nurse Practice Act of Virginia.

Required: |
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Bachelor’s in Nursing |

Master's degree in nursing or other related field |
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
|

Required: | Minimum of 2 years previous charge nurse, shift manager or supervisory experience |
|
|
|
|
Preferred: |
3-5 years of previous experience in a surgical/PACU area |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse.
