Psychiatric Nurse / Psych RN

A teaching hospital is looking for a kind and caring Psych RN to join its team in its Psych Facility on night shifts. This position is responsible for assessment of patient needs, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self care, educational and discharge planning needs.

As the Psych RN, you will:

• Prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care to children, adolescents and adults
• Assess patient/family nursing needs using all data available, including interview
• Develop goals for problems requiring nursing intervention, involving the patient and family in planning whenever possible
• Coordinate patient activities on and off the unit in collaboration with other disciplines
• Participate in developing a comprehensive care plan
• Identify nursing service problems and assist in their solution

• Valid CT RN license
• Associates degree
• 2+ years Psych/Behavioral experience from an inpatient setting
