The Clinical Documentation Specialist will: - Evaluate documentation to assign the principal diagnosis, pertinent secondary diagnoses, and procedures for accurate DRG assignment, risk of mortality, and severity of illness
- Query clinicians regarding missing, unclear, or conflicting health record documentation by requesting and obtaining additional documentation within the health record prior to discharge
- Assure appropriate clinical documentation compliance with quality and coding standards and participate in the analysis of trending statistical data to identify opportunities for improvement

- 3+ years of relevant experience
- RN license
- Degree in a related field
- CDI experience
- Stretch on CM or UR nurse with CDI knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
