Performs a wide variety of patient care activities, as directed by the Medical Director and the Nurse Manager, and conducts psychoeducational sessions and other designated support and therapeutic groups. Patient care is provided in compliance with psychiatric nursing standards of the American Nurses’ Association and with those established by the facility’s psychiatric unit.
Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must have five years of experiences as a Registered Nurse and one year experience in Psychiatric Nursing. 5-7 years of experience. Maryland Nurse Practice Act for Registered Nurses; Visualization, measuring, calculating, auscultation, palpation, and documentation techniques. Maryland Registered Nurse License; American Heart Association CPR Certification; BLS certification. Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Applicant will be required to work 2-3 twelve hour night shifts per week. One administrative business day per week, or as required by the management team. Will perform unit auditing supervision and be a member of the hospital PI team.
