Job Summary:The Clinical Nurse II independently provides patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation from admission through transfer or discharge. The Registered Nurse works with the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, high quality patient care and safety. A Clinical Nurse II provides competent patient care and can be utilized as a resource to other nurses.
Requirements:-Must have graduated from an accredited nursing school and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam.
-Bachelor Degree preferred.
-Must be licensed (RN) to practice in Maryland or must be able to obtain a Maryland license based on timeframe of licensing board.
-Healthcare Provider Level CPR.
-One (1) year of current clinical experience.
-Must obtain 20 CEU's per year
-Must have critical thinking and prioritization skills.
-Must be computer literate.
-Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
-Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
-Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
-Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team member with other employees.
-Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.


Specialty Certifications:
-Calvert Ambulatory - ACLS within 1 year of hire or transfer;
-PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, Angiography, Lung Center - ACLS within 1 year of hire or within 6 months of transfer, within 1 year of transfer for ICU;
-ED - ACLS within 1 year of hire (new grad) or within 6 months if experienced ED or Critical Care RN, within 6 months of transfer;
-PEDS UrgiCare - PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire (new grad), or within 6 months if experienced ED or Critical Care RN, within 6 months of transfer;
-Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery - NRP within 6 months of hire or transfer;
-NICU - NRP within 1 year of hire or transfer;
-OP Chemo - MMC Chemotherapy Administration Certification at time of hire or transfer.
