Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Cardiothoracic Practice in Lynchburg
We will consider a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant for this position.
The Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced training as a physician extender. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a physician to provide medical services within protocols established by the supervising physician. Such medical services may include history and physical exams, treatment of specific illnesses or injuries, both chronic and acute. The Nurse Practitioner may perform other services that have traditionally been reserved for physicians.
EDUCATION

Required: |
Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing with current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing, and MS in Nursing. |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Nationally recognized certification in field of specialization required.
Current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
Maintains BLS & ACLS certifications.
Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse.
